VaYishlach

In this week’s parashah, the Explicit Name is mathematically hidden in the circumstances of several different events, beginning with a continuation of those that occurred at the very end of last week’s parashah.

We will look at these allusions in a moment. However, if you are new to this blog, please read each of the essential constructs listed in the column to the right before proceeding. These pages reveal some of the basic mathematic connections between the letters of God's Explicit Name and the multidimensional geometric characteristics of the luchot, both in the divided state and combined cubic form, along with the internal geometry that casts a shadow known as a magen david. There is a special connection between the Name, the luchot and the geometry of the magen, and together they form a unique signature. We refer to this geometry and its mathematic common denominator as the Signature of the Architect. The purpose of this blog is to show how all of these things connect, and to reveal where the signature geometry is hidden, not only in each week’s parashah, but the physics of time and space, quantum mechanics and celestial dynamics to name a few. Once you are familiar with these constructs you can more fully appreciate each post

As for the allusions in this parashah, they can be found in the numbers; sets of numbers; the ratio between the sets; and the associated gematria that is deeply embedded in the linguistic structure of the text, as well as the characteristics of the narrative. All have a direct correlation with the letters in the Explicit Name, and each is far too precise to be coincidental. Collectively, they are overwhelming in their implications.

Since they are a continuation of last week's parashah, a quick review might help to set the stage: Yaacov and Lavan made a treaty. Then Yaacov continued on his way. However Lavan, upon returning home, dispatched men to Esav to inform him of Yaacov’s whereabouts for the purpose of having him murdered. The name of the place (where the treaty was enacted) was Gilead and the letters of that name have a gematria of 107, which falls “1 short” of “half” (with a gematria of 108) or half the number of letters in God’s Explicit Name (216). The indication being that 1 party would fail to keep his half of the bargain. There were 2 parties to the treaty in Gilead (
2 times the gematria of Gilead = 214) and the one who failed to keep his half of the bargain died within 2 years: 2 x 107 (the gematria of Gilead) = 214,  plus the 2 years until the death of the guilty party (214 plus 2= 216) which is the number of letters in the Guarantor’s Name (for details you can re-read the post on VaYetze).

In the meantime, as Yaacov continues on his way we find the Explicit Name again hidden, this time in the details of two specific passages. The first is: "Yaacov sent forth messengers to his brother Esav,” and the second is “some distance from Ephrath... Rachel began to give birth.”

Twins can have special significance in the Torah. These particular statements must be understood in terms of the simple explanation of the "twins" presented in the “essential constructs” (to the right) as well as posts like VaYetze and Toldot, where "twins" not only play a prominent role in Yaacov’s life, but allude to the
nature of the luchot and the signature geometry in the letters in God's Name that mathematically define the luchot, two identical twins (in shape, form, measure and substance) that were originally in combined cubic form. Such allusions reflect the nature of a much larger reality. In this parashah, both of these (two) passages are a subtle allusion to the twin-geometry of the luchot and the letters in that form. We also see this particular reflection in the "twin camps."

At the very end of last week's parashah Yaacov saw [angels] and named the place "twin camps." Genesis/Beresheit 32:3 "When Yaacov saw them he said, 'this is God's camp.' He named the place Twin Camps (machanaim) (R. Kaplan's translation of Me'am Lo'ez on VaYetze pg. 108). Why would two groups of angels be designated as twin camps? The parashah ends there, and neither the number of angels or their nature is made known. However, we see the significance of these twins, as well as their connection to God's Name, in a group of angels known as the 216 lions. These "lions" correspond to the letters in the Triad Havayah of 72 which are hidden in both the geometry and the measure of the luchot. These 'groups' became twins in both form and substance when they were divided and brought down by Moshe, with a volumetric measure of 108 cubic hand-breadths in one, opposite another 108 cubic hand-breadths in the other. Sefer Hekalot refers to the twins as 36 triplets or wings  to the left
(108) and 36 triplets or wings to the right (108). Each cubic hand-breadth represents a letter or associated 'angel.' The first two dimensions of the twins are 72 and the third dimension is 3 cubic hand-breadths respectively (each half / twin being 108).

In the divided form of the luchot (shnei luchot) the “lions” that correspond to each half are likewise divided, and they become “twin camps” reflecting the associated specifications within the blueprint. A polarization of these angels into “twin camps” (and the letters of the Name they represent) was necessary to sustain a physical universe having male-female attributes (the duality that inevitably results is such things as the plus or minus of an electrical charge). The Signature of the Architect that is found within the blueprint and the angels associated with those specifications, do indeed sustain the universe and direct the events that occur over time. Thus, the significance of Yaacov’s “twin camps” as they pertain to the letters in the Name should not go unnoticed.

The soul of these 216 letters are the 4 letters of the Tetragrammaton (Shaarey Orah). We have a tradition that four angels were sent to help Yaacov but it is important to understand the connection that the 4 have to the 216. We’ve explained the significance of these four throughout this blog, and the post on Parashah Ki Thetze provides more detail.

Insofar as the “twin form” of the 216 letters is concerned, their shadow can be seen in the events that play themselves out in this week’s parashah, where "Jacob sent forth messengers to his brother Esav" (remember the twins we mentioned earlier). Who did he send? Our Sages say that half of these “messengers” were from God but the other half were angels created by the mitzvoth of Yaacov; so half came from above and half from below. This is the very nature of duality, the male-female polarity that sustains a universe in like form. The gematria of the word “half” (108) should provide us with a hint as to the numbers of messengers involved, and the reference to “twin camps” should set aside any doubt as to its implications. The details however, are hidden from the casual observer.

We'll find additional witnesses to the exact numbers as we proceed. In the meantime, the half from “above” were sent to defeat the angel of Esav and the half from “below” were sent with Yaacov’s human messengers to deal with Esav himself, so the twin camps of angels engaged in mutually exclusive tasks. Either way, we can see from the events that God was with Yaacov, as evidenced by the King’s Signature hidden beneath the surface.

Another witness alluding to these 216 letters/angels associated with the Explicit Name, in the same parashah, can be seen when: “some distance from Ephrath... Rachel began to give birth.” Our Sages say that messengers were dispatched by Rivka to inform Yaacov of Esav’s plans. How many? Rivka sent “72 of her strongest servants” to Yaacov with advice. Yaacov reaches an agreement with Esav. After its all over, Rachael goes into labor and gives birth to triplets4. You will recall that "when it came time for [her predecessor Rivka] to give birth, there were twins in her womb." In this parashah, Rachel has triplets in her womb. Both references allude to God's Explicit Name and specifically their connection to the measure and the geometry of the luchot in the divided state: 2 x 108 = 216 (the twins) and 3 x 72 = 216 (the triplets). When we view these events through the prism of the magen david (the luchot in the geometric configuration of tetrahedrons) we can see the Signature of the Architect inscribed on the events in question. Otherwise, it remains hidden.

Having examined Yaacov’s “half” of the story (108) we will now examine Esav’s half. Keep in mind, as we do, that: 1) the gematria of the word “half” is 108 and; 2) that Yaacov and Esav were “twins;” and 3) that each of the twins (luchot) measured 108 cubic handbreadths, and that 4) the twins (Yaacov and Esav) were born in 2108, and that each “half” of any combination above is 108, and that the 2 halves equate to 216 years/hand-breadths (the hidden reflection takes many forms) but in each case it is invariably a function of the letters of the One Name that defines reality. Even though these things are hidden from the casual observer, they are nevertheless incredibly bright to those with minimal insight, and so now the events continue as Esav’s “half” opposes Yaacov’s “half” (with
Esav’s half being defective (107) as just explained).

Esav knew that Yaacov was returning home and was reminded of how he’d foolishly relinquished his birthright, by selling it to his brother. So Esav decides to take revenge on Yaacov for taking the birthright and blessings. He gathers together his entire household along with the nation of Seir (where he lived and inherited). He has an army of 400 men. He divides this army into 7 groups. The first group consisted of his family. There were 60 men in this group. He puts his oldest son Eliphaz in charge of these 60 men. The remaining 340 men were from Seir.

Each of Seir’s 6 sons was put in charge of a contingent made up of their families and camps. Although Seir had 7 sons (not 6) one of those sons, Tzivon, was heavily intermarried with Esav. Tzivon had 2 sons, Aya and Ana. Ana had a daughter Oholibamah. Oholibamah was Esav’s fourth wife and mother to three of Esav’s sons. Esav also gave this Ana1, his daughter Martziss2 as a wife. Thus most of Ana’s descendants would be the family of Esav, and as there was only one other son of Tzivon (Aya) his descendants were included in the first camp of Esav headed by Eliphaz.

Thus the 400 men in Esav’s army were divided into 7 regiments headed by their respective family heads (with one son of Seir’s family absorbed in Esav’s camp) and 6 of Seir's sons were put in charge. Esav wanted to come forcefully against Yaacov.

The unusual metrics of this contingent are also a function of the signature geometry, and specifically one of its defining characteristics that result in the 216 elements. The connection between the '7 regiments' and the '6 sons' is a function of a six-to-one ratio that is defined by the properties of the combined cubic form of the luchot with a measure of six (hand-breadths) delineated by seven lines (modeled below). Yaacov's defense against those seeking to do him harm, were the six days of the week followed by his observance of the seventh which was Shabbat. The story is in the [geometry of the] sapphire.

The geometry of 6 as it pertains to 7 in the above model, is the same in all three of its dimensions. Our sages of course make a point of telling us how Yaacov did three things to counter Esav’s preparations.

One: Yaacov prepared by praying to God to save him. God answered Yaacov’s prayer and tradition has it, that He dispatched the four angels (mentioned above) to deal with Esav. These angels appeared as a “vast army” measuring in “hundreds” of “thousands” and that these “numbers” were divided into
four specific regiments. Each of the four angels appeared at the head of their respective regiment and each approached Esav successively, one after the other, letting him know that it was by Yaacov’s grace, that these vast armies of angels didn’t attack them (Esav and his men). Of course, after these four encounters, Esav and his army became quite frightened of Yaacov. If he had such legions at his command, what chance did they have against him? That is why they folded so quickly when they finally met Yaacov and why they accepted appeasement. In last week’s parashah (VaYetze) God told Yaacov to return to the Land and that He would be with him. You may remember from that post that the Name of God used in that sentence was the abbreviation of the Name known as Ehyeh. The four letters of this abbreviation are manifested in the four angels that surround the Throne of Glory that came down to help Yaacov, so that he is able to deal with Esav and live in the Land. God’s promise to help Yaacov was thus fulfilled. The 4 angels, the 4 regiments that resulted in 4 encounters are another reflection of the marriage between the 4 letters of the Tetragrammaton, the 4 letters of Adnoot and the 4 letters of the unified form of Ehyeh that are all part of the 216 letters of the Explicit Name. The reason why they are expressed in hundreds and thousands, or hundred of thousands is because the reflection of these letters often appear as "a multitude" (mathematic multiples). That is, the number of letters in God’s Explicit Name often appear in multiples of, for example, 2,160 years in the passing of each constellation in the precession of the equinox) or 21,600 arc-minutes in the earths circumference, or it may appear as 10-squared, or 10-cubed or 10 to the 10th power, as demonstrated so often throughout this blog. A good example of 10-cubed would be the Holy of Holies which was 10 cubits-cubed. In handbreadths that’s the same as 6 (tens) x 6 (tens) x 6 (tens) or 216,000 (as in 216 thousand). We see this aspect of the larger reality that originates with the letters, in the multiples that are specific properties of the luchot in combined cubic form, where for example, it volumetric measure of 216 cubic handbreadths, converges with its static parameters in the 2,160 (216 x 10 total number of) degrees in its twenty-four 90 degree angles (24 x 90 = 2,160) etc.

Two: Yaacov prepared by sending tribute in order to appease (create balance in any perceived imbalance). That is, he sent gifts to Esav to provide “additional payment” for the birthright that Esav now realized was worth far more than a bowl of lentils. The form of the additional payment would serve to compensate Esav’s descendants as well, who were all living in Seir. Yaacov sent 580 animals. Seir has a gematria 580. The men of Seir were thus compensated by the 580 animals that Yaacov sent as tribute, and served to counter any claim they “might” have against Yaacov in the heavenly court (by accepting the 'payment' of the animals, any claim the men of Seir may have had against Yaacov in the cosmic scheme of things, was nullified).

Interestingly, the 580 animals were of 5 types. These 5 types were sent in 10 separate droves under the command of 10 servants. One might at first assume these numbers to be a coincidence. However, the 10 droves in the care of 10 servants are like the 10 blessings that are dependent upon the keeping of 10 commandments. The template for reality again originates in the mathematic character of the blueprint/luchot. To give the reader a glimpse of this primal archetype, consider that the commandments were inscribed 5 opposite 5 on the luchot (mentioned in the post on Toldot). This is an external reflection of its 5 internal mathematic constructs and their 5 polar opposites (
5 opposite 5). In mathematics, these constructs define the unique geometry of the platonic solids. In this case, it is manifested in the 5 types of animals (mentioned above) that Yaccov sent, which are expressed as so many "male or female" (5 opposite 5) sheep, goats, cattle, donkeys, with nursing camels and their colts. The luchot were of course carved from the sapphire block (the original combined cubic form of the luchot) characterized by those 5 internal mathematic constructs and 5 polar opposites, and so the 5 types of animals, male and female, are simply a precise reflection of this larger reality in the specifications within the luchot. In this case however, the mathematic structure of the luchot (or specifications within the cosmic blueprint) are even more specific.

Notice that one group of animals, the Camels, were described as being female (nursing camels) with their young, rather than being expressed as “so many female camels” and “so many male camels.” The reason for this variation is that 1 of the 5 internal constructs in the blueprint/luchot is different from the other 4 which have different polar opposites. The 5th is the tetrahedron, whose polar opposite is simply another tetrahedron facing the opposite direction. Because the blueprint possesses these characteristics (1 being different from the other 4) the corresponding aspect of reality also has these same characteristics. The events accurately mirror the specifications within the blueprint, so 4 types of animals are specifically identified as male and female, while the 5th type (in the number of camels) is described as a “female” nursing a “young colt." In the geometry of this event, we see not only the "4 opposite 4" in the letters in the Name that underlies the process, but we also see the "5 opposite 5," of the male~female luchot/world/universe that these letters create.

The male and female tetrahedrons in the star tetrahedron (or magen david) in this one particular construct also represent or reflect the nature of the male and female halves of the universe that are, in this case, manifested as God (in the form of the Holy Feminine) who raises (or nurtures) the consciousness of mankind; opposite Man himself, whose consciousness is being nurtured (rectified) with the help of God as time progresses, just
like the mother camel nurses its colt.

The remaining 4 “types” of constructs in the blueprint (that are distinctly male or female) are what determines everything else, like the 4 male-female forces in quantum mechanics that “rule” the universe: 1) the strong nuclear force; 2) the weak nuclear force; 3) electromagnetism; and 4) gravity. One type has to do with spiritual development of God’s children (like the evolution of human consciousness) and the other 4 types have to do with the nature of the universe in which these children reside. For more on how the 4 letter abbreviations of the Explicit Name “rule” the dynamics of time and space see such posts as Ki Thetze, Ki Thavo, Shemeni & Tazria, Metzora and the Marriage of the Letters.

Three: Yaacov’s third and final preparation is to divide his own camp into two, placing Damascus and Elinos, sons of Eliezer (servant of Avraham) in charge of each. This was so that if Esav attacked one, at least the other would escape. This division is very much like the division of the sapphire block that was divided in two when it was brought down as the two luchot; but it is also like the “twin camps” of angels. Both have a connection to the letters of the Explicit Name in twin form. Also hinted, is the fact that the luchot would be brought down twice. How so? Yaacov reasoned that if the first group was destroyed, the second group would survive. In the case of the luchot, the first set was destroyed while the second set survived and remained intact. The characteristics of the events are invariably a reflection of what was/is specified in the mathematic and geometric nature of the cosmic blueprint (luchot).

At any rate, we see from the above, that Yaacov did three things to prepare for an impending event. What was that event and how did it conform to the Signature of the Architect? It was the merging (meeting) of the two opposing halves.

When Yaacov and Esav finally meet, Yaacov bows 7 times, countering each of Esav’s 7 regiments, and once again we see a one-dimensional metric reflection of the magen david (that one unique construct within the cubic luchot) having to do with the evolution of human consciousness. Here it is in the form of 7 opposite 7 (the number of elements in a two-dimensional magen david). This is the "royal seal" expressed in terms of its one-dimensional metrics as explained more fully in the post on Parashah Emor. Together with the gifts mentioned above, this famous exchange between Yaacov and Esav averted war. Details of this encounter are also examined in the post on “Every Second Counts,” listed in the column to the right, where the specific significance of the number 400 (like the number of Esav's men) as it relates to the letters of God’s Name can be seen. These numbers are hardly coincidental.

A brief but condensed review follows and it is worth emphasizing: After Yaacov split his camp into two halves (like the sapphire block that would be split into two halves) he sent the tribute in ten droves, like the ten commandments that would be inscribed on those two luchot. The droves included 5 types of animals (male and female) like the commandments that would be 5 opposite 5 on the luchot, and like the 5 internal mathematic constructs within the sapphire cube opposite their 5 counterparts that are male and female with respect to one another. The nature of the events always mirror the nature of the blueprint which called for the events in the first place. In this case the numbers are rather basic, but we find the same numbers, sets of numbers and the ratio between the sets throughout the entire Torah. These numbers are all specific to the nature of the luchot with 10 commandments that are 5 on 2 (5 opposite 5) which are an aspect of its internal mathematic nature of 5 opposite 5 (10) and where its external nature is in the form of its commandments that are
5 opposite 5 (10). In combined cubic form, its internal and external nature is seen in its measure of 6 x 6 x 6 hand-breadths (216 cubic hand-breadths) reflecting the Signature of the Architect with 216 letters. Add to those numbers mentioned above, the 7 opposite 7 which is a one-dimensional representation of the tetrahedral construct within a cube having 72 triangular corners (216) and the Signature of the Architect becomes even more clear.

It’s important to notice that there are multiple numbers, sets of numbers and ratios that comprise the Signature of the Architect. We've seen them here as 10, 5, and 2; or 6 x 6 x 6; or 72 x 3; or 7 opposite 7) but each case, each set of numbers, in its own way, is a function of the geometry of the luchot, either in their divided state, or combined cubic form, and all of these forms ultimately hide the matrix of 216 (the nature of the cosmic blueprint/luchot) and the letters it represents.

This is particularly evident in the geometric nature of the Triad Havayah of 72, which is why Rivka sends Yaacov 72 of her strongest helpers, to assist him against Esav, and then Yaacov does 3 things to prepare for war (as we saw above). The 72 helpers and the 3 things Yaacov did to prepare, once again, reflect the nature of the One who was helping Yaacov overcome Esav. The same reflection is seen in the 72 servants and Rachel’s triplets. The royal seal (three-dimensional magen david) wherein the letters of the King’s Name are hidden, may be more difficult to perceive, but they are nevertheless indelibly stamped on the events in question, along with the specific mathematic and geometric characteristics of the luchot that Yaacov’s descendants would receive.

Another place we see the royal seal (and related letters) in this week’s parashah is when Binyamin is born. With his birth, the 12 sons of Yaacov (Yisrael) are now complete. They would become the fathers of the 12 tribes, as it says in 35:22 “The sons of Jacob were 12.” What does 12 have to do with the royal seal? When it is opposed by another “12,” it correlates with the geometry of 2 tetrahedrons (three-dimensional magen david) which after marriage, has 12 small faces on one, opposite 12 small faces on the other. Together the geometry of this marriage results in 72 triangular corners (216). When we see 12 opposite 12, we are seeing an aspect of this geometry. The 12 tribes of Israel opposed by 12 opponents (on which we'll specifically elaborate in a moment) are a manifestation of this geometry in the world below. They are a function of the specifications within the Primordial Torah. Although once again, we need to emphasize that this is really a “reflection” of the letters in the Explicit Name that are found in the 12-letter abbreviation of the Name and its 12-letter counterpart, as explained more fully in the post on Ki Thavo. All of this requires serious contemplation.

Built into the cosmic blueprint (luchot) are the requirements for the rectification of human consciousness. That’s why we see the 12 tribes of Israel “opposed” (for example) by the 12 tribes or “chief-doms,” and kings of Edom mentioned at the end of the parashah (we'll provide additional examples as we proceed). Through such “conflict” between good and evil, the collective soul (Klal) Yisrael is rectified, as it says in Psalms 66:10, “For you have tried us oh God, and refined us as silver is refined,” and Psalms 12:6, “The words (of Torah/blueprint/specifications/requirements) are pure... as silver refined in a furnace on earth (in the events that happen) refined 7 times. The 7 here alludes to the cycles of time discussed so many times elsewhere in this blog, that also originate in, or specified by the geometry of the Primordial Torah, more specifically those that correspond to the elements of a magen david (the internal geometry of the luchot) where the magen establishes the 12 opposite 12 in the blueprint (above)
and where they take the same form in the 12 Tribes of Israel opposite their 12 oppressors in the furnace (conflict) below, and where the soul is "tried" and then refined.

For purpose of clarification/emphasis/review, one of the five internal mathematic constructs found within the combined cubic form of the luchot, is the tetrahedron, and when it is “married” to its polar opposite, it creates the star tetrahedron with 72 triangular corners that mathematically reflect the geometry pertaining to the 216 letters of the Triad Havayah of 72. When two tetrahedrons are merged together in opposing directions as just mentioned, the lines of division define 12 small faces on one, opposite 12 small faces on the other (see graphic below). So we see within the mathematic specifications for these events (12 “tribes” opposite 12 antagonistic “chief-doms”) in the geometry of the cosmic blueprint (again the combined cubic form of the luchot) is what "specifies" these events. You will notice that whenever the events are characterized by 12 opposite 12 (which is the expanded form of the four letter abbreviations of the Name) that the subject matter invariably has to do with the characteristics of certain events and these events affect the consciousness of mankind (being nurtured by God) as opposed (generally) to the other aspects of the universe.

12 Faces Opposite 12 Faces
and their Two-Dimensional Shadow

It can also be observed in the two-dimensional shadow of the above construct as well. The shadow is the magen david that can be seen on the modern-day Israeli flag and it happens to have 12 sides, one side for each of the 12 tribes. The other 12 (that pertain to the opposing half) cannot be seen because the more complete picture is hidden within the inherent limitations of two-dimensional space. We show the relationship between the mathematic construct in the blueprint/luchot and the pertinent half of the equation corresponding to the 12 sons of Yaacov below. It would be this “half” who would move God’s plan for creation forward, toward its ultimate conclusion. This should be carefully contemplated.

As previously mentioned, the deeper reason for “12” has to do with the expanded form of the 4 letter abbreviations, generally known as “the 12-Letter-Explicit-Name” (just keep in mind that it is referred to as “explicit” because, like the 4 letter abbreviations, it too is an abbreviated form of the 216 letters).

We see the Signature of the Architect in the 12-letter expanded form, found in events like the “12 stones” on one side of the Jordan River opposite the “12 stones” on the other side (as explained in the post on Parsahah Ki Thavo) but we see it hidden in other places throughout Torah as well. Again, in order to more fully understand the nature of the 12 letters and their opposite numbers you will need to read (or re-read) that particular post; and if you want to see how the 4 letters relate to those 12 letters, you also need to read the post on Ki Thetze. The specifics will not be reiterated here.

In this parashah however, we see another reflection of these same letters in the 12 tribes “contending” (or are otherwise balanced against) their opposite numbers for purpose of rectification. Despite the seeming coincidence in the numbers, it’s important to understand that the creative chemistry begins with the opposing nature of the letters in the abbreviations mentioned. In order to understand the cause and effect of the events, you have to understand the “letter-chemistry” of the Name that is an intrinsic part of the process.

Earlier we said we'd provide additional examples of the 12 opposite 12 (in those who oppose Israel).
Where else do we find this particular reflection and its opposing half? In Parashah VaYera there were the 12 sons of Nahor, and in Parashah Chai Sarah there were 12 princes of Yishmael, each of which opposed the 12 tribes of Israel. Are these "12 opposite 12(s)" a coincidence? A statistical aberration? Hardly! They are a fundamental aspect of reality established by the nature of cosmic blueprint where the three-dimensional magen david "specifies" the requirement for rectification. Still not convinced? There are also lesser known “12s” standing opposite the 12 of Israel.

Terach (the father of Avraham) for example, had a son by his new wife Pelilah when he was 180 years old. The name of that son was Tzova and he was Avraham’s “half” brother. Thirty years later, Tzova had a son named Aram. Aram in turn had 12 sons (like Yaacov) and together with his family and two brothers, they create the city that came to be known as Aram Tzova (also known as Aleppo).

If we total the number of 12s opposing the 12 of Israel, we find there are 4 groups:

1) the sons of Nahor;
2) those of Tzova;
3) Yishmael; and
4) Esav.

These 4 nations have “opposed” (and continue to oppose) Israel throughout history. A good example of this can be seen in the time of King David. During his reign, he fought wars with, and subdued all 4 of these “12s” that became nations. Under King David, the 12 tribes of Israel were unified in the process. So it's no coincidence that the royal seal is called the magen david (shield of David).

The geometry of 12 opposing “the 12” is not only found in the mathematics of the star tetrahedron with 12 small faces on one, opposite 12 on the other, essentially “the specifications” in the blueprint (or this aspect within the combined cubic form of the luchot) but these specifications become even more detailed, when we see that each of the 4 stellations on the opposing tetrahedron is subdivided into a total of 12 quadrants (4 x 12) . That’s why there were ultimately 4 groups of 12 opposing the 12 of Israel. The mathematic structure of the luchot evidently specified the requirement for purpose of tikkun. The question is, how much brighter does the light have to be, before an individual can see the letters of God's Name behind the scenes of these events?

You may remember that Yaacov placed 12 stones under his head that united and became one. These stones not only allude to his 12 sons, but the nature of the blueprint/luchot they would receive and the unification (becoming one) that would be brought about as a result of their opposite numbers (12). The regular physical form of the shnei (twin) luchot, by the way, has 12 external sides (that are revealed by their division). The internal form (tetrahedral) has 12 faces (sides) opposite 12 faces (sides) where the full picture is hidden. Just as the stones represent letters, so too do the faces. Just as 4 opposite 4 are unified in another 4, the 12 become unified as a result of their opposing half. The geometry explains why Baal HaTurim says that the luchot were cut from the “stone” under Yaacov’s head. The stone (or 12 stones) are a manifestation of the letters (of God’s Name) as they relate to the luchot having 216 cubic hand-breadths (that are in reality a unity as the luchot were when in the form of one-cubit-cubed).

If we calculate the odds of all these events (characterized as 12 opposite 12) being a “coincidence,” the result is off the scale, especially when we consider that this “opposition” (in the form of the nations represented by the original “4 x 12”) is still going on amongst their descendants to this very day. What we are seeing is the rectification of the 12 (Israel) by the nature of the opposing “numbers” that correspond to the opposing letters of God’s Name in the blueprint. Although, we would hastily add that any nation on earth that exceeds its mandate will be destroyed for having gone too far (as is known). In the process of unification, when the 4 opposite 4 that become 4, and the 12 opposite 12 that become 12, one of the visible "halves" invariably disappears. This is what happens to those who oppose Israel (the archetype of righteousness established by the Creator as a model/witness to the nations). Those who oppose the model/witness (righteousness) are eventually subsumed and disappear. This should stand as a warning to the nations opposing Israel today.

Addendum
(not recommended unless the reader is fully familiar...)
(...with the internal geometry of the luchot)

What you are about to read is rather arcane and beyond the ability to calculate or ascertain mathematic validity (as to whether it is by design as opposed to coincidence). Nevertheless, what is said here, does adhere to the patterns that have a connection to the Name and its geometry. As such, it is offered for the sake of contemplation.

The balance of this post will deal with the gematria of the third name given to Luz by Yaacov. The fact that it ultimately had 3 names and that Yaacov changed that name twice, should tell us that the names and their respective changes are likely significant within the larger framework, and it remains for us to determine what that significance may be. Once we become aware that there is a mathematic (and geometric) substrata beneath the letters of Torah, characterized by very clear patterns in the numbers, sets of numbers and ratio’s that have a direct correlation with God’s Name, then it becomes plausible to assume that there are other mathematic relationships between names and events that also have a story to tell. With that in mind we will examine those 3 names as they (might) pertain to God’s Name. However before doing so, we should mention that while the symmetry of the letters, the blueprint/luchot and of the universe as it applies to the letters of God's Name can sometimes be rather obvious (especially when presented as we've done in the first part of this post) this is not always the case. The symmetry and its connection to the luchot are often much more subtle, and the minutae lost, or buried so deeply as to be mathematically unverifiable. As such, the remaining assertions that you are about to read, while clearly factual, easily observable, and interesting, cannot be proven one way or the other, to be connected to either the luchot or the Name. The are offered to the reader as an example of how to develop insight into deeper mysteries that might otherwise remain hidden.

Consider, for example, when Yaacov builds an altar to God in Beth El, he renames the place “El Beth El” (35:7) (See last week's post on Parashah VaYetze for how Yaacov changes the name the first time) and that El Beth El was the third name for this place. You may remember that its first name was Luz (which is one-word-one-name having a gematria of 43). Yaacov changes the name to Beth El (two words/names having a gematria of 443). In so doing, he added another “4” to the sequence of numbers in the gematria of the original name. This is somewhat reminiscent of the 3 Names where the third (Ehyeh) is the combination of the other two, which both have 4 letters. The gematria for the names of these places seems to have a connection to the increasing wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the one who named them (Yaacov). The 4 faces of one tetrahedron, opposite the 4 faces of the other tetrahedron, also have 3 (triangular) corners, so the blueprint/luchot (seem to) have additional connections to the letters of the abbreviated forms of the Name.

The new name is El Beth El and it is (now) the third name for the place. The first name (Luz) consists of 1 name; the second name (Beth-El) consists of 2 names and the third name (El-Beth-El) consists of 3 names. Throughout the course of this blog, we've described the form, substance, place and position for the 216 letters of the Explicit Name in terms of one, two and even three dimensions. The change in the gematria for the names of these places seems to evolve in much the same manner. Although keep in mind that this assertion is based on just a few numbers that equate to the one-dimensional metric expression for each, and the smaller the data set, the more impossible it becomes to establish or otherwise estimate validity.

The gematria of the first name was 43;
                  ...the second name was 443;
...and the gematria for the new (third) name
...has a combined gematria of 474.

We might certainly consider these “numbers” a coincidence, and perhaps they are, but throughout the course of this blog we have repeatedly shown the many patterns having to do with the letters of the Name and the geometry of the blueprint/luchot in the form of 3s (3 Names, 3 x 72 letters etc); 4s (4 opposite 4) and 7s (7 opposite 7) specifically as they pertain to the letters of the Name, and events that occur over time (as measured for example by cycles of 7 in the observance of calendar related halacha). Each number is associated with a set of numbers, but in the form of twins, triplets, etc., married together one way or the other. If the symmetry of the Primordial Torah originates with the letters of the Name (which should be rather obvious by now) then it is also plausible to assume that every detail of every event must also have a connection to this larger reality, no matter how subtle the connection, and that while it may be well hidden, it is nevertheless there, for anyone who cares to peel back the layers of this complex reality centered around the matrix of letters.

In this case, the gematria of all three names consists of numbers sequenced in a manner that bears a subtle resemblance to the larger reality behind the creative process, and while that could well be a coincidence (as in any small data set) there are just too many of these coincidences to set them aside as mere coincidence. Still it may be a coincidence, but knowing how Yaacov studied for 14 years in the school of Shem and Ever (7 opposite 7) at a time when the letters of the Torah had not yet been brought down, but still knowing the Name, and knowing how powerful names can be, it is difficult to imagine that Yaacov did not understand the potential of the “new” names that he gave to this place.

It is a foregone conclusion that he studied the (sacred) geometry surrounding the letters of God's Name as it applied to the universe as a whole. Moreover, we know this would have been passed down by Noah to his descendants, like Shem and Ever, who established schools where Avraham, Yitzak and Yaacov would learn, and that they all had specific knowledge of God's Name as demonstrated by their actions in the post on Beresheit and Noah. So it should not come as a surprise that we find Yaacov manipulating letter combinations for purpose of hiding various mysteries. An example of this manipulation of creative energy (letters) and is significance is seen in the third name having three letters with a gematria of three numbers, as it is consistent with the geometry of the magen david (three triangular corners on three external faces of each stellation) as well as the cubic geometry of the luchot where each of its eight dimensions consists of 3 cubic hand-breadths, by 3 cubic hand-breadths, by 3 cubic hand-breadths. All of these attributes reflect the triad nature of the Name. However, even though the gematria of the third name (of Luz) is completely different, we still have 4 opposite 4 in the sequence of those numbers. Only this time, the odd number goes from “3” to “7” and the 4s are now separated by the 7. This is like the 3 “names” themselves, that begin with “El” (a letter designation for the Name of God) and then ends with “El,” where we see the letter-chemistry of the name (El-Beth-El) mirror the mathematic-chemistry of the sequence of numbers. This is also like the permutation of the three sets of 72 letters  (first - last - first as is known). Is the gematria of 4-7-4 a further reflection of this Name? If we weren’t seeing this in the text of the Torah, we might expect to see it in the configuration of protons, neutrons and electrons on the Periodic Table of Elements. The “chemistry” of the Name and its evolution (or increased knowledge of the Name) over time, may have its significance in the nature of human consciousness that evolves over time (and inevitable tikkun). We’ll see how that might work in a moment.

In the evolution of the first name to the second, the 4 letters of Ehyeh (represented by the 4 in the first gematria) are ultimately divided (polarized) into male and female counterparts (the 4 letters of the Tetragrammaton opposite the 4 letters of Adnoot) that are represented by the additional 4 in the second name “Beth El.”

In the evolution of the second name the letters are adjacent to one another and the power of “good” to rectify its opposite is minimized because of this attachment. The Temple and its purpose (for example) can be visualized but it does not materialize until those that are righteous can separate themselves from those that are not (as the 7 separates the fours in the gematria) . This particular name is changed again and Yaacov calls the place El-Beth-El, where the 4 that represent half the equation distance themselves from the 4 that represent the other half of the equation (where that distance is defined by the 7 representing halachic observance and calendar-related observance in particular, like Shabbat on the 7th day). This is like the 4-letters abbreviations that stand opposite one another, and the 12 opposite 12 that we see in the process of rectification for Klal Yisrael discussed above. What brings about the separation? Ultimately, it is Torah observance. This is why those who are non-observant tend to assimilate. They do not separate themselves (4 opposite 4) from those who do not observe Shabbat (7).

The evolution of the name (of the place) thus goes from 43 (a single 4 letter abbreviation of the Triad Name: the Havayah of Ehyeh) to 443 where the “previous” letters of Ehyeh are separated into the 4 letters of the Tetragrammaton and the 4 of Adnoot, but where the 4s, representing both abbreviations are “adjacent” to one another (not yet separated).

However the evolution continues with the third name, where the gematria becomes 4
74. At this stage in the evolution of human consciousness, the opposites (4 opposite 4) have now distanced themselves from one another. The righteous separate themselves from the unrighteous by virtue of their nature (Torah observance) signified by the cycles of 7 (the Shabbat: 7 days; the Omer: 7 days x 7 days; the Shmitah: 7 years; and the Jubilee 7 years x 7 years, where 7 just happens to be the number separating the 4s.

Interestingly enough, the gematria of
Ehyeh is 3 x 7 or 21. These are the numbers that we see in the evolution of the name. Conversely, if you divide 21 by the number of words in the name of the place (3) you get the average gematria (7) which also happens to be the middle number. The symmetry of this mathematic artwork is rather striking, even if we were to consider it a coincidence. However, if you add the 3 (as in the 3 names of the place) to the 4 (as in the letters of the Name Ehyeh) you get 7, which is again the new middle number. The number 7 is also a representation of the first dimension in calendar related halachah (measured in cycles of 7) which Yaacov (Yisrael) could now focus on, having separated himself from Esav (the other half working to destroy or otherwise prevent righteousness/light entering the world)3. The following graphics are provided to help readers contemplate the symmetry in the sequence of numbers in the new name.

The gematria of 474, is also a sequence that one-dimension-ally describes 2 opposing tetrahedrons that have 4 points on one, opposite 4 points on the other, or 4 faces opposite 4 faces. The combination of the two create a star tetrahedron (magen david) that can be one-dimension-ally represented by the 7 elements in each half of the two-dimensional version. The three dimensional version of course geometrically reflects all 216 letters in the Explicit Name.

We'll let you decide whether the changes in the name of this place correlate with God’s Name as suggested by the numbers; and whether Yaacov understood the significance of these new names; or whether they were just a sublime reflection of a larger reality; or whether its just a coincidence.

____________

Footnote 1 – This Ana was the first to breed mules.

Footnote 2 - Martziss was Esav's oldest child, and was a daughter of Yehudis, Esav's first wife. Yehudis was the daughter of Be'eri, son of Epher, the Hittite.

Footnote 3 – Another thing to point out is that soon after Yaacov’s encounter with Esav is the incident with Dinah and Shechem. This results in Shimon and Levi wiping out all males of the city. When the surrounding cities heard about this, terror gripped their hearts. They were stunned; how could 2 men wipe out an entire city?! And even though a confederacy amassed to avenge the city of Shechem, they were too terrified to attack and aborted their mission. Thus Yaacov was free to focus on halachah.

Footnote 4 - When they were around four miles from Ephrath, Rachel began to give birth (Rashi). In VaYetze, each of Jacob's sons was born with a twin sister, with the exception of Yoseph, who was born alone (Rashi p. 78). Rachel was now giving birth to triplets, one son and two daughters (geometrically one male and two female, like the geometry of a triangle where any two points are in the same dimension, and another one in the dimension above). The midwife therefore said, "This one will also be a son for you." It was customary for the midwives of that era not to tell a mother whether she had a son or a daughter until she had recovered from her delivery. Some women would be disappointed to go through the pain of childbirth for a girl, and their depression could have adverse affects on their recovery, even to the point of endangering their lives. Rachel first gave birth to the two girls. The midwife however, lied to her and told her that the second delivery was a boy. The midwife did not want her to feel bad that she had delivered two girls, one after the other, but this was to no avail, since it had been decreed that Rachel was to die along the way (Yafeh Toar pg. 458; Rashi) / (Me'am Loez VaYishlach 35: 16-18, Pg 189)

VaYetze

In Parashah VaYetze, there are mathematic allusions to God's Explicit Name in numerous places. Consider the phrase: “...complete the week with one and we will give you the other."

To understand how this correlates with God's Name, flashback to last week's parashah (Toldot) where the signature geometry was embedded in the language of the phrase: "...when it came time for her to give birth, twins were in her womb." The subject of that parashah dealt with the pregnancy of Rivka and the twins, Yaacov and Esav. However, these "twins" were in her womb throughout the entire gestation period, not merely "when it came time for her to give birth,” alluding to the Shechina (Holy Feminine) and the luchot, or more specifically the twins that intrinsically reflect the unique Signature of the Architect.

This week, in VaYetze, we see the instant replay with the same Signature, only this time the twins are Leah and Rachael. Yaacov is told: “complete the week with one and we will give you the other.” God says to Yaacov (Israel) complete the week (observe the Shabbat ) and we will give you the other (luchot) that are each 6 x 6 x 3 (108) times 2. J
ust as Israel would later receive 'twins' (the shnei luchot) Yaacov here receives twins. Each event is a reflection of a larger reality where the signature geometry repeats itself as time moves forward in the physical universe.

We will provide additional details in a moment, however those who are new to this blog should read each of the essential constructs listed in the column to the right before proceeding. The purpose of this blog is to show how all of these things connect, and to reveal where the signature geometry is hidden, not only in each week’s parashah, but also such things as quantum mechanics, the physics of time and space, celestial dynamics, biology, chemistry (etc). Once you are familiar with these constructs you can more fully appreciate each post.

In Parashah VaYetze, there are additional allusions to the Explicit Name as well. Yehuda, for example, is born to Yaacov and his birth has special significance. Not only was he the father of the tribe of Judah, but his descendants would bear the royal line of kingship ("the sceptre shall not depart from Yehuda") that was passed down from the pre-flood kings as explained in the post on Bereishit and Noach. Yehuda is the father of the lasting jews and it would be from his descendants that Messiah would come. The term ‘Jew’ means “comes from the tribe of Judah.” Of all the tribes, this is the one that lasted throughout the ages and has returned to fulfill its role in the cosmic scheme of things as we approach 6,000 years of human history. This is not the place to go into why this has happened. It is sufficient to point out that Yehuda has been and will always be the father of the Jews.

It should therefore come as no surprise that his name and the circumstances surrounding his birth have great significance with regard to God’s Name(s). He was the 4th child of Yaacov, and father of the 4th tribe. Events or circumstances in the Torah that are characterized by the number 4 are almost invariably associated with more than one instance of the number 4, because each is a reflection of the Explicit Name and the nature of its abbreviated forms in the 4 letters of the Tetragrammaton; the 4 letters of its polar opposite in Adnoot, and their combination (marriage) that result in the 4 letters of Ehyeh.

This is the same “reflection” that was seen in the post on Parashah Ki Thetze, where the 4 strands of tzitzith were doubled over and become 4 opposite 4, on 4 corners of the garment.

This reflection was seen again last week, in Parashah Toldot: 4 wells were dug by Avraham; the 4 wells were then filled in by the Philistines; but then the 4 wells return to their earlier state when they are re-dug by Yitzchak.

The significance of these reflections is very lofty and requires contemplation. If you want to know God’s Name then take time (make the time) to comprehend this. If you want more information pertaining to this aspect of God’s Explicit Name and its abbreviated forms, then re-read the posts on Maasey & Devarim and Ki Thetze and specifically the Marriage of the Letters.

Here in this parashah, we see this same reflection again. Only this time, it is found in the name and the circumstances surrounding Yehuda who is the fourth son and father of the fourth tribe. Yehudah's name is also comprised of the four letters that spell the Tetragrammaton

In addition to the letters of the Tetragrammaton, it also has another letter, specifically a Daled (ד) which has a gematria of four. It's the fourth letter of Yehudah’s name as Yehuda is the fourth son. Coincidence? Not hardly—same reflection—a mathematic reflection arising from a basic mathematic imperative of the primordial torah (luchot) and its signature geometry!

In the cosmic scheme of things, the division of the letters in God’s Name (into their respective male and female counterparts) create and sustain a physical universe in male/female form. We see this “division” or polarization of (male-female) letters in both: 1) the Explicit Name with 216 letters, where the division is seen when the luchot are brought down and where each half has a volumetric measure of 108 cubic hand-breadths, and where the word “half” (chetzei) has a gematria of 108; and 2) in the 4 letters of Ehyeh that 'divide' (male opposite female) into the 4 letters of the Tetragrammaton opposite the 4 letters of  Adnoot that are similarly divided/polarized into their respective male and female counterparts (recombined within human consciousness during the four bows). The blueprint mathematically reflects this imperative because it is necessary for maintaining space-time in a physical universe having male-female attributes (duality) and this is also why we see its reflection in the world below as the history of mankind unfolds.

With the division of the 216 letters of the Explicit Name into 108 opposite 108 (as seen in the luchot) and the division of the 4 (letters in Ehyeh) into the 4 opposite 4 of the Tetragrammaton and Adnoot, the underlying basis for a physical universe in male-female form is put in place, and so creation progresses accordingly, in male-female form. This can be seen in the male-female aspects of the luchot, where the combined cubic form consists of 5 internal mathematic constructs and 5 polar opposites (the duality of the 5). This is not only found in the ”physical nature” of the cosmic blueprint, but also the physical nature of the created universe, as found in the 5 string theories reconciled by dual resonance).

Where do we see this reflection in this week’s parashah? When the Daled is added to the Tetragrammaton to “create” the name of Yehuda, it moves the last letter of the Tetragrammaton, the letter Hey (ה) to the fifth position, where it becomes the 5th letter of his name. The letter Hey (ה)  has a gematria of 5. The nature of the blueprint (in the combined cubic form of the luchot) with its 5 internal mathematic constructs and their 5 opposites is essentially the mathematic by-product of the separation of the letters into their 4 male and 4 female counterparts. So we see in this parashah, not one, but two reflected forms of the Explicit Name and the luchot it defines in terms of 4 opposite 4 and 5 opposite 5.

What this means of course, is that Yehudah’s name (substance/essence) is very special. His name is literally the Tetragrammaton (one of the abbreviations) with the addition of the daled. So the shadow of the Creator’s Name of 216 letters is seen in the 4 letters of the abbreviation manifested in the physical person of Yehuda whose name consists of those letters, along with the 5th letter that alludes to the mathematic nature of the blueprint; the halacha that his descendants would observe; and the nature of the physical universe in which this observance would take place. Each is simply a time-dependent reflection of the creation equation.

The letter daled (with a gematria of 4) is equally revealing in that it is in the 4th position of this name, manifested in the 4th son. This is a direct reflection again, of: 1) the 4 letters in the Tetragrammaton; 2) the 4 letters of Adnoot and; 3) their “recombinant form” in the 4 letters of Ehyeh. This is why the last of these Names (the unified form: Ehyeh) is seen in verse 31:3 where God tells Yaacov to...return to the Land of your fathers, … and I (Ehyeh) will be with you” (the return being in essence a unification of the Name). The reason the Jewish people are “married” to the land (and must return) is that our very existence is wrapped up in the unification of the letters in God’s Name (last week’s post explains why this Name is used in reference to the land). That’s why returning to the land is necessary to sanctify the Name. The 4 letters of the abbreviation(s) as they pertain to the land are then manifested in verse 28:14 where the 4 cardinal directions: north-south-east-west are then mentioned, their physical existence being “measured” by, and dependent upon this Name.

The three (four-letter abbreviations) of the Name are a reflection of the triad nature of the One Unique fully expanded Explicit Name that consists of 72 triplets. There are many reflections of these “triplets” in this week’s parashah. Each is a reflection of the Name. There are, for example:

3 flocks of sheep waiting to be watered when Yaacov comes to the well in Charan.

3 days pass before Lavan is told Yaacov has fled.
(After having separated the sheep that would be Yaacov’s wages: 30:36

3 days distance is put between Lavan and Yaacov and thus 3 days pass
before Lavan is told that Yaacov has fled).

3 types of fresh rods are used by Yaacov (poplar, hazel, chestnut)
(he then peels them to create the “hypnotic sheep mating sticks”)

3 types of sheep result from using three types of rods: ringed, speckled, and checkered.

Notice that there are four instances of 3. The events that give rise to these numbers are dictated by the internal geometry of the luchot, as mentioned in the essential construct on the primordial torah. In this case it is an aspect of the tetrahedron within the cube (which is one of its five internal mathematic constructs) that has four triangular faces with a total of 720 degrees.  Each alludes to the nature of the Name with 3 x 72 or 216 letters abbreviated as four (opposite four).

The 4 letters in Yehudah’s name that are those of the Tetragrammaton, plus the 5th letter (the daled) have a gematria of 30 (or 3 “tens”). The 4 instances above are another reflection of the abbreviations and the “3” alludes to the triad nature of the Name. The reason for the multiple of 10, is that Yehudah’s descendants (until today) have always kept (collectively) the 10 Commandments inscribed on the luchot, whose volumetric measure corresponds to the total number of letters in the Triad Havayah of 72 (216). Other tribes of Israel did not keep the commandments and were ultimately lost, and so as we mentioned above, the surviving Jews are (mostly) from the tribe of Judah/Yehuda.

Additional reflections of this geometry are found in the circumstances involving Ya'acov’s journey to Charan when he stops in Luz. He has a dream in which God appears, so when he awakes, he calls the place Beth El. Luz (the original name) has a gematria of 43. The integer sequence in the gematria (that should now sound vaguely familiar) consists of the numbers that happen to characterize the above events/circumstances. Beth El (the new name) however, has a gematria of 443 (a star tetrahedron which is the geometry of unification has four faces on one half, and four faces on the other half, each with 3 corners. The cosmic blueprint (primordial torah) ultimately specifies reality in the world below. In this case, the names reflect the larger reality. The change in the name of this place, as seen in the sequence of numbers in their gematria, is the same with the exception of the additional 4 following the first 4. Yaacov says in 28:17 “Surely God is present in this place!” He then changes the name from Luz (43) to Beth El (443) alluding both to the two primary abbreviations in the 4 letters of the Tetragrammaton and the 4 letters of Adnoot, and the nature of their position in the Triad Name that define His presence in this place (a total of 72 small faces with 3 corners on the 4 faces of one opposite the 4 faces of the other). In other words, the Name and its abbreviations define the geometry of the blueprint (luchot) which in turn defines the world below, or the nature of creation as it progresses over time, toward unification, and its ultimate perfection. Names are important. They reflect the essence of what is named; what has happened; or what will happen in the future. That’s why our tzadikkim recommend changing the name of someone who is sick, to restore their health. It's not the new name that is important, so much as how accurately the new name reflects the letters of the Creator's Name.

In order to explain it a little differently, the letters have their counterpart in the numbers and sets of numbers in the mathematic structure of the star tetrahedron (three-dimensional magen david) which is a geometric reflection of the letters in God’s Explicit Name. This reflection (which is again 1 of 5 internal constructs within the combined cubic form of the luchot) defines the geometry of a star tetrahedron that happens to consist of a tetrahedron with 4 faces/points opposite another tetrahedron with 4
faces/points, each face having 3 corners. The internal geometry of the luchot (blueprint) defines reality in the world below, although we seem to decide (by our actions) how it is to be manifested. In this case, Yaacov sanctified God’s Name (proclaiming God’s Presence) in this place (Luz) by changing its name to Beth El. Of course, as you might suspect, the Presence of God’s Name is found in many additional places. We’ve examined the 3s and the 4s. The 7s are also somewhat revealing.

The 7s (as we’ve explained many times throughout the blog) generally correlate to our observance of calendar related halachah. However, they are an inherent aspect of the blueprint (luchot) as well. Sometimes they are seen as 7 opposite 7, in which case they are a one-dimensional reflection of the magen david in the form of its 7 elements opposite 7 elements (as explained in the post on Emor which is a prerequisite to understanding this particular reflection of God’s Name). In other cases they appear as three 7s, in which case they are a one-dimensional metric expression that corresponds to (the cubic nature) in the cycles of 7 that mark the passage of time, a construct that hides three 6s corresponding to the combined cubic form of the luchot and the letters of the Explicit Name
as detailed in posts like BeHar and Bechuko-thai.

In this parashah, we see this aspect of the blueprint/luchot manifested in: 1) the 7 years that Yaacov worked for Rachel but then by deception marries Leah instead; 2) the 7 days of wedding celebrations after the wedding and then; 3) Yaacov agrees to work another 7 years for Rachel. These three 7s define the cycles of “time” in a physical universe with
three observable spacial dimensions, invariably expressed in terms of sevens like 7 days (week) 7 x 7 days (omer) 7 years (shmitah) 7 x 7 years (jubilee). All are reflections of cycles pertaining to halachah, defined by the geometry of the luchot. This observance (that reflects the nature of time) as previously mentioned, “hides” the 216 elements, which are the spaces/intersections within the matrix that corresponds to the combined cubic form of the luchot and the 216 letters of the Explicit Name (again, explained more fully in the post on BeHar and Bechuko-thai).

In this case, there were not only 7 (years) for Leah and 7 (years) for Rachel:
7 opposite 7 (years) but also 7 (days) of wedding celebrations, that then led to the 7 (days) it took for Lavan to catch up with Yaacov on Mt. Gilead. So we see the 7s as both 7 opposite 7 (as in the royal seal of the magen david) but also three 7s as in the matrix of time that hides the Signature of the Architect, a signature that is now complete after the culmination of these events. A triangle coincidentally consists of three points (from among a total of 7 elements) where one point is different from the other two points (any two of its points exist in one dimension while the third point is in the second dimension with respect to the first two). The events (below) mirror the geometry imposed by the primordial blueprint, and so the sevens take the form of 7 (years) for Leah; 7 (years) for Rachel and 7 (days) of celebration, where one period (or measure) of time, is different from the other two.

This series of events continues when Lavan eventually catches up to Yaacov. They make a treaty and then pile stones on top of one another to mark the spot. The terms of the treaty required each to refrain from crossing the border to harm the other, and the stones marked the border set by the treaty. Then they name the place Gilead which is actually two words (“Gal” and “Aid”) that mean “witness mound,” in reference to the stones. Each person was of course required to keep his half of the bargain. The gematria of “half” is 108 (as is the gematria for "the stones" which is what they had piled up as a "witness"). The new name for the place was Gilead, but it has a gematria of 107, which falls "1 short" of the mark (108 being half). The implication was that 1 party (Lavan) would not keep his half of the bargain. Yaacov may have suspected as much. In next week’s parashah, we’ll see how this is rectified.

At any rate, the treaty required each party to refrain from crossing the border to cause harm to the other, but soon after, Yaacov encounters Esav coming against him with 400 men (next week’s parashah). How did Esav know that Yaacov was coming? It turns out that when Lavan got home, he sent his son Beor to incite Esav, to kill Yaacov, in violation of the treaty he had just made (hence the defective gematria).

Beor along with AviCheref, the son of Utz (who was the son of Nahor) and 10 men (quite an entourage) run to Seir to do the will of Lavan. When they reach Esav, they spin a twisted tale accusing Yaacov of deception. Beor tells Esav that Yaacov "left suddenly" without telling Lavan, as though Yaacov had committed a crime (the alleged reason for leaving suddenly). The truth was that Yaacov knew Lavan would try to prevent his departure and he had no alternative. However, the truth didn't matter to Beor as long as the desired result was achieved. And indeed it was, as the allegation reminded Esav that Yaacov deceived him too, by "stealing" the blessings and birthright (which was never true in the first place since the birthright had been purchased). Then after further distorting the truth, and getting Esav worked up, they inform him of Ya'acov’s whereabouts. So Esav gathers an army and marches against Yaacov. The bottom line is that Lavan, lacking any respect for God or what God requires of men (alluded to by each luchot with 108 cubic hand-breadths and the commandment against "bearing false witness" or "murder") failed to keep his "half" of the bargain alluded to by the gematria of Gilead (107). Gilead, made up of the 2 words (even in the Aramaic of 31:47) signified the treaty made by 2 parties, or 2 halves. To rectify the breach in the treaty, God had Lavan die within 2 years of his violation of the treaty, so we see 107 (Gilead) + 107 (Lavan's unkept half of the treaty) 'create' the requirement limiting his life to 2 more years: 107 + 107 + 2 = 216. The events once again are specified in the geometry of the luchot and the letters of creation, that are once again, themselves derived from the letters of the Name

In summary, we’ve seen numerous instances in this parashah where a knowledge of God’s Explicit Name is a prerequisite for both protection and blessing. The signature geometry here takes one of 3 primary mathematic and/or geometric forms: 4 opposite 4 (that are 4); 5 opposite 5, and 3 x 72. These reflections of the Name go hand-in-hand with understanding the nature of the luchot and what God requires of man. When Israel honors God’s Name and observes halacha, "he" is blessed and protected. When "he" does not, the blessings and protections take a different form, a form involving painful realizations that inevitably lead Israel back to its original path, ultimately destined to "return" (4 times) to the Land; a path involving tikkun (rectification) of human consciousness; and a path that invariably reflects every aspect of the letters in God's Name.
