VaYeshev

There are numerous mathematic allusions to the Triad Havayah of 72 in Parashah VaYeshev. We will examine each in great detail, but for purpose of introduction they are found in the character of certain events. One such event is the date on which Yaacov “assign[s] to Yoseph [the royal garment];” another is when Yoseph says “...the sun, moon and the 11 stars prostrated themselves to me;” and yet again when Yehuda’s friend the Adullamite is told “She [Tamar] was in [a place called] Two Wells...” We see the same allusion “...when it came time for her to give birth [and] twins were in her womb.” We'll examine others as well. However, the circumstances involving each of these references is a mathematic mirror image for the measure of the primordial torah (luchot/blueprint) and as such, finds its origin in the letters of the Explicit Name.

The above statements will make little sense to the reader who is unfamiliar with the Name and its abbreviated forms, or the properties of the luchot. If you are new to this blog, it is important to read the essential constructs listed in the column to the right before proceeding. These constructs explain some of the basic connections between the letters of God's Explicit Name and the multidimensional mathematic and geometric characteristics of the luchot (tablets of the covenant) both in the divided state and combined cubic form, along with the internal geometry that casts a shadow known as a magen david. There is a special connection between the Name, the luchot and the geometry of the magen. The purpose of this blog is to show how they connect with one another and to reveal where the Signature of the Architect is hidden, not only in each week’s parashah, but the physics of time and space, quantum mechanics and celestial dynamics to name a few.

The earlier reference to twins in the first paragraph is, by the way, linguistically identical to the reference in Parashah Toldot, except there, it was Rivka who was about to give birth and the twins were Yaacov and Esav. Here, Tamar is about to give birth, and the twins are Peretz and Zerach. We’ll come back to these twins and the unusual nature of the text that allude to the luchot in a moment, but first a refresher on the mathematic allusion to God's Name in the birth of the previous twins.

Those twins were Yaacov and Esav who were born in the 108th year of the third millennium (2108). The 2 men were born in the 108th year like the volumetric measure of the shnei (two) luchot (2 x 108 cubic handbreadths). The timing involved in the event is a reflection of a larger reality originating in the letters of God’s Name (216). Some times the reflections are extremely intense. This parashah is a prime example, as the events (pertaining to Yoseph) takes place exactly 108 years later, when Yaacov reaches the age of 108. So multiple moments in time converge in this parashah, giving it great significance. It was also the proper moment in time for the mantle of kingship to be passed from father to son, as it was before the flood (a tradition explained in the post on Bereishit and Noach) and so the amount of time involved, and the date on which the events occurred, all correlate with the measure of the luchot, and the number of letters in the Explicit Name. The date of birth for Yaacov and Esav was an “echo” of an earlier reflection that took place with Cain and Hevel: another set of twins who were born in the 108th year, but of the first millennium (think of these events as "twins" being brought down twice). In this case it is the timeline for the history of mankind (an aspect of the 4th dimension) that reflects the mathematic characteristics of the luchot (twins brought down twice) that are, again, a reflection of the letters in Hashem Hameforash. So when Yaacov reaches the age of 108 he must “assign to Yoseph [the royal garment];” This garment (coat) is given to Yoseph in - wait for it - the 216th year of that millennium. The numbers, besides their obvious connection to the luchot (twins) reflect with total clarity the mathematic characteristics of God’s Name, but the significance is completely lost on the casual observer.

It must be emphasized, at this point, that these dates are not just someone’s imagination. They are part of recorded history, found within secular sources as well as religious sources (Torah / Berosus / Chaldean). The numbers invariably reflect, with perfect clarity, the Signature of the Architect whose Name is etched upon the events that have transpired throughout history. The events reflect the mathematic and geometric nature of the plan, which in turn reflect the mathematic and geometric characteristics of the letters in the Name of the Creator. Its just that the signature geometry is so well hidden beneath the surface, that man goes about his daily business without ever realizing Who is orchestrating the events that shape his reality.

The number of events having their origin in the measure of the primordial torah (both the combined cubic form and its divided state as the luchot) is overwhelming, but all go unnoticed by the average student who is unfamiliar with the primal nature of the blueprint, or the letters of the Explicit Name that define it. Those who wish to overcome the severe limitations placed on human consciousness, should carefully contemplate each of these events in terms of their connection to the Name and the measured geometry luchot.

The parashah continues, and sandwiched between the selling of Yoseph and his descent into Egypt is the story of Yehuda and Tamar. This involves a second set of twins (those first mentioned above). This set of twins is connected to the first set by virtue of the unusual, but completely identical language used to describe them: “When it came time for her to give birth... twins were in her womb.” This is the exact same language mentioned in Toldot when Rivka was about to give birth. This time however, it was Tamar, and the twins were Peretz (who would be the forefather of David HaMelech) and Zerach. Just as it was with Rivka, these twins were in the womb throughout the entire period of gestation, not merely “when it came time for her to give birth,” and so the words once again allude to the Shechina (Holy Feminine) and to the giving of the twins (luchot) that would eventually be received by Israel. More specifically, the luchot were in their original combined cubic form (not yet “twins”) until the moment in time when they were divided and brought down by Moshe. Hence, "when it came time for Her to give birth" the "twins" were brought into the world. The circumstances of Peretz and Zerach's birth are described with the same words and phrases used to describe the previous twins (Yaacov and Esav) where the dates of birth and timing correlate directly with the mathematic nature of the luchot (2108, 2 x 108, 216) which in turn corresponds to the signature geometry of the One Who planned these events from the beginning.

Since Peretz and Zerach are a reflection of the “second set” of twins (the luchot that were received intact) the Torah says that “She [Tamar] was in [a place called] Two Wells...”  Water symbolizes Torah, and “Two Wells” is a remarkably accurate metaphor for the luchot (or twins) from which this “water” flows1. How many sets of twins (luchot) were brought down? Two sets! How many sets of twins (children) does the Torah describe (in these unusual words) as becoming "twins" when it came time for them to be born? Two sets! Each event has its source in the geometry which in turn has its source in the 216 letters of God’s Explicit Name. How many sets of twins were born in the 108th year of their respective millennium? Two sets! The first "set" of twins was Cain and Abel, and the second set of twins was Yaacov and Esav. Why two sets of twins in the 108th year of their respective millennium? Because the events are a reflection of a larger reality that is rooted in the form and substance of the cosmic blueprint (luchot) which is defined by the letters of God's Name. That is why we continue to see these reflections at so many levels. In VaYetze, for example, Yaacov saw a group of angels and named the place “Twin Camps.” Why? Same reason. It's the same reflection of the same source. In this parashah, we see the same reflection in a slightly different form. The name of the place where Yehuda and Tamar meet: “Two Wells.”

As God’s plan continues to unfold, the narrative returns to the story of Yoseph and it says (35:9) “...the sun, moon and the 11 stars prostrated themselves to me.” The dream was interpreted to mean that Yoseph’s mother and father, as well as his 11 brothers would bow down to Yoseph (Yoseph being the 12th son/brother). But the dream suggests something else. The metaphors that are part of this dream language bear a remarkable similarity to the geometry involved in the merging of two tetrahedrons and the resulting star tetrahedron (or three-dimensional magen david). The 2 "parents" are male and female opposites of one another. Just as the moon reflects the light of the sun, the female tetrahedron is a mirror image of the male. When they are merged (married) together they give birth to 24 faces (in the form of equilateral triangles) with 12 facing in one direction and 12 in the other. When the 12 triangular faces are merged together with their 12 counterparts, they create 12 “stars,” each being a magen david (the 12 sons of Yaacov). This is like the 12 Letter (abbreviation of the) Explicit Name (or Tri-Tetra-Grammaton) and its counterpart and combination. For more information on the 12 opposite 12 nature of the Name, see the post on Ki Thavo and also last week’s post on VaYishlach.

Count the Number of Triangular Faces on each Tetrahedron
(12 on One Opposite 12 on the Other)

The Marriage of 12 triangles to their 12 Opposites
Results in 12 Stars (12 Two-Dimensional Magen Davids)

In this week’s parashah, Yoseph has a dream, and his brothers are likened to stars. How many? Together with the parents, the 11 stars bow down (to the 12th star) Yoseph. How do we know that Yoseph is a “star” like his brothers? In the first dream (which was the counterpart of the second dream) his brother's are “sheaves” that prostrate themselves to Yoseph who is also likened to a “sheaf,” and thus there were 12 sheaves. The metaphor is the same. On one level God was speaking to Yoseph’s family who would supposedly  prostrate themselves to Yoseph when he became viceroy of Egypt. However, the symbolic language of the geometry suggests that through his descent into Egypt and subsequent rise to power, Yoseph would sanctify God’s Name, just as the unification of the geometry involving the two-dimensional faces on the three-dimensional male and female halves of the tetrahedrons result in 12 two-dimensional stars (magen davids).

There is a "mathematic" witness to that affect, in that the triplets (3 letter groups in the Triad Name) have a direct relationship to each of the 6 points with 3 corners on the 12 stars (6 x 3 x 12 = 216 corners) further alluding to "the unification of the Holy One Blessed be He," whose Explicit Name consists of 216 letters, the unification/sanctification of which, were to be a part of the process in the events that were about to transpire in Egypt.

12 Stars (12 Sons of Yaacov)

12 Stars Have 72 Triangular Points
72 Triangular Points = 216 Points
216 Points in the Geometry are a Reflection of the 216 Letters in the Name
(the 216 letters of the Name that defines reality in the world below)

As a side note, it is difficult to ignore the similarities between the account of Yoseph and his masters wife, and that of Yehuda and Tamar. Yehuda is trapped by his garments who are held by Tamar until she can use them to identify him. The same is true of Potiphar’s wife who held onto Yoseph’s garment, so that she could use it to later identify him. One is a time-differentiated reflection of the other. In a sense, we are all identified by our garments, which are our actions. We either use our talents to sanctify God’s Name, as in "for the sake of the unification of the Holy One, Blessed be He,” or God forbid, we waste them on useless endeavors. In the end of days Israel's "garments" will be used to identify God's people and the nations will recognize who they have persecuted and oppressed down through the ages. The “star” (or magen david) representing Israel, is much like Yoseph and the royal garment. The garment is covered in blood and Yoseph is deemed a slave, but later he is raised up. The same is true for the nation of Israel.

Of course, the letters of God’s Explicit Name can be found mathematically and geometrically in other places of this week’s parashah as well. For example, there are 3 types of items that are in the caravan that brings Yoseph down to Egypt. The 3 things are:

1) Spices,
2) Oils (Balsam) and
3) Flowers (Lotus).

Yehudah (the instigator who brought this about) had 3 children from his wife Aylith, daughter of Shua:

1) Er,
2) Onan, and
3) Shelah.

Tamar receives from Yehudah 3 things as collateral:

1) Signet ring,
2) Cloak, and
3) Staff.

In the dreams of Pharaoh’s chamberlains there are 3 grapevine tendrils and 3 wicker baskets filled with delicacies. The interpretation of both is that in 3 days “Pharaoh will remember you,” and indeed he does.

When all is said and done, there are 6 specific “instances” of 3 “things” and these numbers and sets of numbers (which should sound very familiar) are all a reflection of the size, shape and ratio of the luchot which was in the measure of 6 handbreadths in each of its 3 dimensions). The volumetric measure was thus 216 cubic handbreadths that once again equate to the 216 letters of God’s Explicit Name. These numbers not only reflect the letters of the Name and the dimensions/measure of the combined cubic form of the luchot, but they also define the characteristics of the star tetrahedron (three-dimensional magen david) that has 3 triangular (3) corners on 3 small faces, opposite 3 triangular (3) corners on 3 small faces within any given two-dimensional component.

In addition to these reflections, a cube (of three dimensions) can be divided in half, like the combined cubic form of the luchot that were divided and brought down by Moshe. That division however, occurred in only one of its three dimensions. When each of the remaining dimensions is divided in half, the resulting geometry consists of 8 smaller cubes, any 4 of which stand opposite the other 4, like the 4 letters of the Tetragrammaton that stand opposite the 4 letters of Adnoot. The measure of each of the 4 opposite 4 “halves” (of any given dimension) is 3 x 3 x 3 for each dimension, as pictured below. The six 3s, combine to form the total dimensions of the luchot. The bottom line is that, just as the combined cubic form of the luchot can be expressed as 6 x 6 x 6 (three 6s) which equals 216 cubic handbreadths, 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 (six 3s) equates to the same thing (216) and the various “halves” of each dimension correlate to the 4 letters, opposite 4 letters of the abbreviations. The odds of all this being a coincidence are in excess of a billion to one.

The center point in the diagram to the left is exactly like the point at which one stands when waving the four species, an act that establishes 216 specific X, Y, and Z coordinates within a three-dimensional space, as elaborated upon in the post on the Four Species and the 216 Letters of the Name where this particular mitzva not only serves the purpose of acknowledging the Explicit Name, but serves to place the person observing the mitzva in the middle of that "space."

There are other numbers and sets of numbers in this week’s parashah that represent the mathematic characteristics of the two luchot and the fact that they were brought down twice.

Yoseph has two dreams, one of wheat and the other of stars. The implications upset his brothers so much, they decide to sell him. The total received from that sale was 5 silver shekels, but this had to be divided among the 10 brothers involved (so each brother received half a silver shekel) or what amounts to 5 pairs (or 10 halves of the 5). This is a primal pattern established by the cosmic blueprint as seen in:

  1. The 10 commandments on the 2 tablets they would receive (5 opposite 5).
  2. The sephirot that descend in a single column. They are unable to hold the light of the Ein Sof (at that moment in time) and so they shatter. As the process of creation moves forward in time, the sephirot are divided into their respective counterparts and descend again (Sefer Yetzirah: 5 opposite 5). This time they are capable of holding/containing the light. Just so, when the brothers are united in their desire to harm Yoseph their souls must be refined through the trials and tribulations in Egypt, before they are ready to transmit the light of Torah to the nations.
  3. At the time of the flood. the waters rose for 5 months then diminished for 5 months (5 opposite 5)
  4. The covering over the tabernacle had 5 tapestries sewn together at one end that were hooked to (married with) 5 tapestries at the other end (5 opposite 5).
  5. There were 5 events on the 9th of Av, and 5 more on the 17th of Tamuz (5 opposite 5).
  6. Yoseph had 10 years subtracted from his life because of the 5 things spoken against his father that he did not rebute. Where were the other 5? They were spoken by the translator and thus the statements were 5 opposite 5.

All of these patterns (events) are a reflection of a larger reality, the template for which is found in the combined cubic form of the luchot which has 5 internal mathematic constructs with 5 polar opposites (5 opposite 5) also referred to as 5 "duals."

The entire physical universe must "comply" with the specifications in the luchot, so we see 5 string theories that are reconciled mathematically by what is called dual resonance.

Here, at this point in the parashah, we see this same reflection in the 5 silver shekels that were divided in half, where each of the 10 “brothers” shared in the responsibility for what happened to Yoseph. As always, the reflection is a result of the “specifications” that are built into the blueprint at the primal level. It is the nature of the luchot (as a reflection of the letters in God’s Name) that specifies the measure for rectification in terms of the 5 opposite 5 that mathematically characterize its internal geometry in combined cubic form, where we find the 5 mathematic constructs and their 5 polar opposites. These hidden aspects are physically mirrored by (and externally found in) the 5 commandments on one, opposite the 5 commandments on the other, and in the events below, experienced by those undergoing tikkun. The same reflection appears repeatedly.

It can be seen again, in even greater detail, when the brothers each buy a “pair” of shoes with the money they acquired from the sale of Yoseph, an item that has a distinct set of polar opposites (left-right shoes / male-female). In this case, there are 10 “pair,” like the 10 blessings they received (as descendants of Avraham, Yitzak and Yaacov) that would be dependent on the 10 commandments they would eventually receive, when the luchot are brought down by Moshe. Why 10? The luchot were brought down twice. This is why the 5 silver shekels in halves (10 half silver shekels) was in the form 20 “pieces” of silver (2 for each brother) or 10 “pair.” The luchot were brought down twice and so the composite form finds the (5 opposite 5) or the (10) of one, opposite the (5 opposite 5) or (10) of the other. The events are a reflection of the mathematic and geometric nature of the blueprint/luchot to which the brothers were bound.

Everything in the universe conforms to the specifications in the cosmic blueprint (luchot). Thus the physical form of man is the same. He has 10 fingers (with which to engage in mitzvot - or not) that are 5 opposite 5 ( 5 fingers on one hand and 5 on the other) but he also has 10 toes (with which to run and do good - or not) that are also 5 opposite 5 ( 5 toes on one foot and 5 on the other). The 10 “pair” of shoes that covered the 10 toes (of those who wore them) conceal the inclination of the soul that is hidden within the physical body, whose 10 blessings are judged on the basis of 10 commandments. Each is a reflection of a larger reality, where the specifications of proper conduct originate.

And so Tamar (and Rivka) both had twins in their respective time, like the luchot (blueprint) that were brought down as opposing twins, twice. Each “twin” (tablet) was 5 opposite 5, internally, in terms of the mathematic constructs associated with their combined cubic form 5 opposite 5 (10) and externally, in terms of the 10 commandments also 5 opposite 5 (10) on the 2 tablets. Since there were two sets, there were 10 in the first set opposite 10 in the second. The first were withheld, the second were given (hidden/revealed). The events below again reflect the nature of a larger reality.

Several Patterns Repeatedly Emerge from the Cosmic Blueprint

Volumetric Measure:
108  108       108  108
 216              216
432

Nature of Internal Constructs:

5  5      5  5
10       10
 20

(see the post on the Primordial Torah)

These patterns are also repeatedly found in the linguistic structure of the text in the written Torah. Another reflection of the “twins,” that were brought down “twice,” is in the events involving Potiphar. Yoseph starts in a very low position, but rises to a position of prominence in the house of Potiphar. His “master” (Potiphar) does nothing (half of the primal equation) because Yoseph takes care of everything (the other half of the primal equation). Then after the incident involving Potiphar’s wife Zelichah, Yoseph is thrown in prison and the same thing happens all over again. He starts in a very low position (among the prisoners) but soon rises to a position of prominence. His “master” (this time the warden) does nothing (half of the primal equation) because Yoseph takes care of everything (the other half of the primal equation). Each half (in the twin nature of the events) happens twice. The two are a mirror image of one another, which are in turn are a mirror image of their counterpart, the geometry of the luchot or blueprint from which the plan emanates, and the larger reality to which we refer.

Then two of Pharaoh’s chamberlains are sent to prison and they each have a dream (two dreams). Each dream is an opposing reflection of the other half (male-female). That is, one is ultimately about life, the other about death (polar opposite concepts). Yoseph then interprets the two dreams of the two stewards, and so we again see a reflection of “the twins” that make an appearance twice. In other words, the two dreams are recounted by the two stewards, and then the two dreams of the two stewards are interpreted. This is also like the 4 letters of the Tetragrammaton (in male-female form representing “half” of the abbreviation) and the 4 letters of  Adnoot (in male-female form, for the other “half” of the abbreviation). We say: “for the sake of the unification of the Holy One blessed be He, and His presence, in fear and love and love and fear, to unify the Name Yud-Key [2 letters] with Vav Key [2 letters] in the Name of Kol Yisrael,” in reference to this half of the combined form which is 4 opposite 4. If you really want to know God's Name, then contemplate this for a moment before proceeding.

A multitude of events in this parashah reflect the duality of creation that is seen in the geometry of the luchot. What about the triad form of the Name as seen in the tetrahedral geometry, hidden internally within the cubic form? We've already discussed some of this above. There were 3 grapevine “tendrils” and 3 wicker baskets of delicacies in both dreams of Pharaoh’s chamberlains. This is like the 3 small triangular (3 cornered) faces on any given two-dimensional face of a tetrahedron after it is married to its polar opposite that creates a magen david. There are 72 of these triangular corners (in the three-dimensional version of the magen david) that correspond to the triad nature of the Explicit Name with 216 letters.

The events continue and Yoseph interprets the dreams as follows: To the butler he said: “...in 3 days time, Pharaoh will reinstate you to royal service,” and so Yoseph asked him to mention his plight to Pharaoh in the hope of being released from prison. However, to the baker Yoseph said: “...in 3 days time Pharaoh will have you hanged.” Indeed, it was so. After 3 days, the butler was reinstated but the baker was hanged. The first 3 correspond to life and the second 3 to death, the two ultimate polar opposites found in the opposing halves of the internal geometry of the blueprint.

Since the baker was hanged, the top “triangle” in the blueprint no longer exists (or remains to be fulfilled in some other fashion). The magen (or geometric reflection of the letters in the Name) is incomplete without the other half, and so the butler forgot to mention Yoseph’s plight to Pharaoh. Yoseph thus remains in prison for another two years, until Pharaoh himself has two dreams and the reflection of the Name repeats itself with a different ending (with both halves now present). Are these geometric reflections starting to sound familiar? The pattern of the events correlates with the pattern in the blueprint (luchot) which in turn correlates with the letters of the Triad Havaya of 72. Each subsequent reflection is one step removed from the previous reflection, all of which emanate from the letters of the Name.

There is yet another ‘two’ in this parashah that hints to the luchot. The two chamberlains with two dreams that we spoke about earlier, are like the two luchot brought down twice, in that one (the baker) was destroyed, while the other (the steward) was put to work by the “king.” This is a mirror image of the luchot. The first set was destroyed while the second set remained intact.

Since the “shadow” of the above magen was “broken” in the death of the baker (only half was present) there was no magen (shield) and thus Yoseph was forgotten until Pharaoh has his dream (in a subsequent parashah as the story unfolds). The broken shadow also hints to a time in the future, when the (first set) of luchot would be broken, but the second would survive to eventually “save” Yoseph, who would, until then, have to remain in prison for another 2 years, at which point he would stand before Pharoah and be appointed viceroy. This is like the destruction of Israel and the Temple (at the hands of the Romans). It would be 2 days (2 thousand years) before Israel would be raised up (and again become a nation) to become the viceroy of the King (God). The events are all bound to the mathematic nature of the blueprint (2 luchot) which in combination measure 216, corresponding to the number of letters in the Explicit Name.

One other thing of note: We mentioned above that Yoseph was sold for 20 pieces of silver, but this was only what his brothers received for selling him. The full story is a bit more complicated, but nevertheless adheres to the primal properties of the luchot. Originally, the brothers wanted to kill Yoseph but threw him into a pit instead (because Reuven insisted they not murder him). The brothers distanced themselves from Yoseph’s cries and sat down for a meal, but then noticed an Ishmaelite caravan in the distance and this gave them the idea to sell him (Divine Providence). Meanwhile, Midianites happened upon the pit and helped Yoseph to get out. It was these Midianites who bought Yoseph from the brothers for 20 pieces of silver (the transaction mentioned above). After the transaction was complete, they realized Yoseph was too good looking to be a slave, and they also figured out who his brothers were, but it was too late. So they decided to divest themselves of a potential liability. When they reach the Ishmaelite caravan headed for Egypt, they strike a deal to sell Yoseph (again) for what they themselves received, which was 20 pieces of silver. However, after certain incidents happen along the way, the Ishmaelite’s decide that it is also in their best interest to rid themselves of this “slave,” and so when they happen upon 4 Medanim traders coming from Egypt, they sell Yoseph (yet again) for 20 pieces of silver. The Medanim knew that Potiphar was looking for good slaves and so they turn around and head back to Egypt to make a quick sale. Once Potiphar confirms they bought Yoseph from the Ishmaelites (rather than kidnapping him from some nobleman) Potiphar agrees to buy him for, you guessed it, 20 pieces of silver. Thus Yoseph was sold 4 times and for a total of 80 pieces of silver (20 pieces, then 20 pieces, then 20 pieces, then 20 pieces).

This is a mathematic multiple of the letters and specifically the marriage between the letters that are 2 letters, then 2 letters then 2 letters then 2 letters, each pair married together as explained in the post by that name (yud with aleph; heh with dalet; vav with nun; and heh with yud). The events mirror the larger reality.

These 4 “sales” are like the 4 exiles that Israel would have to endure. In each case, 20 pieces of silver are involved, and the amount equates to what would eventually be 5 silver shekels. The “price” of redemption (for a Jewish soul) was thus set by heavenly accord at 5 silver shekels (established by the brothers at the time of sale) which was repeated 4 times, as set forth in (found in the mathematic nature of) the blueprint. This is like the 5 commandments on each of the 4 tablets.

We see once again, that all of the events have their origin in the mathematic and geometric properties of the luchot, which is the blueprint for God’s plan, and that all of these properties are ultimately a reflection of the letters in the Explicit Name (or its abbreviations as they relate to one another). The interconnected nature of reality allows for the plan (events/history) to flow from the source above, as time moves forward.

(Special thanks go to Yisrael for pointing out the connection to the shoes and toes)
